PAUL CASALE / American b.1962 Brooklyn, New York

Paul Casale attended the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. While at Art and Design Paul studied under Irwin Greenberg and was invited to attend an early morning painting class that both he and Max Ginsburg ran. The group worked from life in oils, watercolor and pencil and students were taught a traditional approach to painting and drawing. The lessons learned in those sessions formed the foundation for his studies in college.

Paul received a scholarship competition award to attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York where he majored in fine art and minored in illustration. While attending Pratt, Paul went on to win a number of awards and grants for both his fine art and illustration, including a Ford Foundation Award and an Art Students Association Award before graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors in 1983.

Like many realist artists of the past and present, Paul has established a career as both a fine artist and illustrator. Paul is a member of the prestigious Society of Illustrators in New York City and has participated in a number of exhibitions they have held. Paul has created illustrations for a variety of clientele in the United States and abroad, including AT&T, Avon Books, Bantam Books for Young Readers, Bethany House Publishers, JC Penney, Harper Collins, Houghton Mifflin and Company, Macys, Penguin USA, Pocket Books, Random House Publishers, Scholastic Books and many others.
